Collections & Research
Staff and Research Associates of the New Brunswick Museum are involved in a wide variety of research programs relating to our extensive collections. The collections are managed through computer based databases: InMagic for the Natural Sciences and the Archives and Research Library, and The Museum System (TMS) for the Humanities.
Archives & Research Library
The Museum Library houses approximately 45,000 monographs and 500 periodical titles, relating mainly to natural sciences, New Brunswick history, shipping, and the fine and decorative arts.
Humanities
The museum has one of the largest collections of 19th century decorative arts, history and Canadiana in the Atlantic Provinces.
Natural Sciences
The scientific collections of the New Brunswick Museum are the result of more than a century and a half of collection and study.
Conservation
One of the most important responsibilities of the New Brunswick Museum is the preservation of its collections so it will also be here for future New Brunswickers.
