New Brunswick Museum prepares for move out of Douglas Avenue Facility
Effective Monday, October 23rd 2023, NBM staff will begin the process of moving the collections from Douglas Avenue to the temporary space at Lancaster Avenue. This process is expected to take several months and will pave the way for the much anticipated Revitalize NBM Project involving the historic museum building and location.
This means:
- The Collections & Research Centre, including the Archives and Research Library will be temporarily closed to public visitation and requests for consultation.
- Programs relating to the collections, including new acquisitions, requests for loans or images, and research will be temporarily suspended.
These measures will allow staff to concentrate their efforts on preparing the collections for the move. The NBM will be providing updates on accessibility of the collections and library moving forward.
Please note the NBM Boutique in Brunswick Square will remain open during this time. Customers can also visit the boutique on-line at www.boutique.nbm-mnb.ca.
We thank you for your patience and ongoing support as your New Brunswick Museum enters a new and exciting phase of its history.
