Conservation on Canvas, an Exhibition of paintings of the Nature Trust of New Brunswick’s Nature Preserves by artist Michael McEwing

To mark the Nature Trust of New Brunswick’s 30th anniversary, the New Brunswick Museum presents Conservation on Canvas, an exhibition of 33 oil paintings by local artist Michael McEwing.

This stunning collection captures the province’s unique ecosystems and landscapes, from the Bay of Fundy’s rugged coastlines to the Miramichi River’s tranquil watersheds.

McEwing’s four-year journey took him to 15 Nature Trust nature preserves, where he immersed himself in the province’s natural beauty and met the dedicated individuals working to protect it. “This series is not just about painting nature,” he says. “It’s about the people who have inspired me along the way – their passion, knowledge, and love for this land.”

Conservation on Canvas is a testament to the power of art and conservation. Join us as we celebrate 30 years of protecting New Brunswick’s natural heritage and explore the importance of preserving our province’s natural beauty for future generations. The exhibition runs from October 5th, 2017, to mid-January 2018, before embarking on a provincial tour.
