Acclaimed visual artist, teacher, and publisher Thaddeus Holownia presents a breathtaking tribute to the Saint John River landscape in this exclusive portfolio.
Spanning over 41 years as a Fine Arts Department professor at Mount Allison University, Holownia has mastered the art of capturing the intricate dance between nature and humanity. His large-format camera lens has chronicled the most remote and majestic corners of our world, including the Saint John River, eastern Canada’s longest waterway.
Commissioned by Dr. Oscar L. Koller, The Koller Portfolio is a poignant companion piece to Holownia’s critically acclaimed Silver Ghost: The Salmon Rivers of Eastern Canada. While Silver Ghost sounded the alarm on the endangered Atlantic Salmon, this new suite of photographs turns its attention to the Saint John River and its watershed, revealing the delicate balance between human presence and ecological fragility. Sponsored by the Royal Society of Canada, this exhibition is a testament to the enduring power of art to inspire reflection, conservation, and reverence for our natural world.
