Artists See Architecture

In the New Brunswick Museum’s foyer, discover how the province’s built landscape has inspired local artists over time.

The Artists See Architecture display invites you to see the familiar in a new light, featuring a selection of works by New Brunswick artists from 1876 to 1966.

From intimate depictions of individual buildings to charming miniature constructions, this ongoing exhibit reveals the diverse ways artists have captured the essence of our region’s architecture. Step inside a clustered row of houses, or gaze out at a cityscape from a fresh perspective. Each piece offers a unique lens through which to consider the structures that shape our daily lives.

This exhibit is a sneak peek at the NBM’s upcoming exhibition, Music of the Eye II: Architectural Drawings of Saint John and Its Region, which promises to further explore the rich history of architectural representation in our province. Stay tuned for more information on the main event, and in the meantime, stop by to experience the art of seeing architecture in a whole new way.
