Disheveling! An ExtraordinHAIRY Exhibition

The New Brunswick Museum is excited to host Disheveling! An ExtraordinHAIRY Exhibition, produced by the Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum in collaboration with Télé-Québec and contribution from Heritage Canada, from October 5, 2019 to 26 January, 2020.

In this unique exhibition, visitors will get to know nature to a hair. Humans, plants, and animals will show their true colours and present their greatest assets, their hair. In a funny and shaggy setting, Dishevelling provides an overview of the integumentary system, with content divided into three zones covering anatomical characteristics, fur, and human hair.

“This exhibition focuses on the biology of hair in animals, humans and plants alike. It explains their components, their forms and their functions. DISHEVELING presents two different approaches: The scientific approach for those who wish to see all the different samples and read everything about them as well as the hands-on approach for those who prefer to touch everything. I believe that this design, which is reminiscent of a grooming or hair salon, will fascinate more than one child”, says Dominique Gélinas, Head of Exhibitions and Visitor Experience at the New Brunswick Museum.

Watch for more hairy theme events and programs on NBM’s website and social media channels over the coming weeks while the exhibition is here!
