Sarah Kingsbury, a graduate student from Saint Mary’s University, will be visiting the New Brunswick Museum on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 to talk about the Chinese Mystery Snail Project. Sarah will be offering a free public presentation at 2pm on Sunday about Chinese mystery snails and how the public can get involved in a citizen science research project. These snails are a potentially invasive, non-native, freshwater species that may be negatively impacting native species. Invasive species threaten New Brunswick’s natural biological diversity. Also, invasive species cost taxpayers every year because taxpayer money is spent on managing and controlling invasive species. Find out more about how you can help protect your local environment from Chinese mystery snails by coming to Sarah’s talk at the museum or look on the project’s website at http://bit.do/mysterysnails.
