The exhibition includes selected works from the larger temporary exhibition recently produced and shown by the New Brunswick Museum.   Ten of the thirty painters, who lived, worked and exhibited in New Brunswick during a period of tremendous growth in all the arts of New Brunswick, from 1970 to 2000.  In addition to paintings by each of the ten artists, the exhibition also includes powerful black and white photographs by James Wilson, providing a fascinating look at these painters with the tools of their trade, at work or in their studios.

The exhibition and accompanying publication were produced by the New Brunswick Museum in a unique collaboration with private gallery owner Peter Buckland and photographer James Wilson.

General Italo Balbo Collection

July 13, 1933 was a truly historic day in the life of the resort town of Shediac. This was the day that Italian General Italo Balbo, Minister of Aviation in Benito Mussolini's cabinet, and his armada of twenty four Savoia Manchetti S-55 flying boats alighted on Shediac Bay. This was the first massed flight of aircraft ever to cross the Atlantic.
