Facilities

The Natural Sciences Department is located in the Douglas Avenue Collections and Research Facility of the New Brunswick Museum, located at 277 Douglas Avenue, Saint John, New Brunswick. Depending on requirements, space is available to accommodate visiting researchers. The department has clean lab and wet lab facilities for preparation of botanical, geological and zoological specimens. Research visits to view the collections can be accommodated by making an appointment with the curator of the collection. The collection database is maintained using Inmagic® software on a departmental network. Limited access to the collection database is provided through this web site. More in-depth access to collection records may be made available by contacting the curator in charge of the collection.

The NBM Archives and Research Library maintains a large number of books and journals relating to natural sciences, including the library collections of the Natural History Society of New Brunswick. Holdings also include monographs and periodicals in the fine and decorative arts, New Brunswick history, and shipping.
