New Brunswick Museum Special Offer for Grandparents

The New Brunswick Museum is issuing a special invitation to grandparents to visit with their grandchildren on Grandparents Day, Sunday, September 13, from noon to 5 pm.  With a chance to see the life-size replica of Delilah in the Hall of the Great Whales, sing a sea shanty or tie sailor’s knots in the Shipbuilding Gallery, or create a souvenir in the Discovery Gallery, both generations will enjoy their time together at the Museum.

Grandparents can also purchase a Museum Family Membership, which entitles them to a year of free visits with their grandchildren. Museum Director and CEO Jane Fullerton commented that “with so much to discover and enjoy, and new activities and exhibitions throughout the year, it’s a fun place to bring grandkids regularly.” The Family Membership category allows visits by grandparents with up to 6 grandchildren. Members also receive a discount on purchases in the Museum Shop, including educational toys, books of local interest and regional crafts.

Grandparents who purchase a Family Membership in September will be entered in a special draw for a Museum gift basket. Watch for a special Kids Guide to the Museum, developed with the assistance of Grade 4 and 5 students, coming later this fall. Explorer Days every Saturday are packed with hands-on discovery tours, experiments and educational crafts, with a new theme each month.

Pick up a copy of the Membership brochure at the Museum or check the Museum website www.nbm-mnb.ca for information on membership and upcoming activities.
