Have a Blizzard of Fun this weekend at the NBM!

Join in the Blizzard of Fun happening this weekend, January 3rd and 4th at the New Brunswick Museum. There are lots of activities planned throughout the weekend for the whole family to enjoy, including: Explorer Saturdays; cool exhibitions like Ice Age Mammals; and the fine art of Miller Brittain, and Alexandra Flood.

There will be something to cheer about “winter” for everyone with Explorer Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. Our popular Explorer Saturdays include hands-on tours, art activity, crafts, cooking and more! It’s a day full of great family activities, fun and learning.  Some of the Explorer Saturday activities planned for this Saturday include: painting a winter scene; crafting your very own snow goggles; and baking an edible glacier!

Take this opportunity to explore the exhibition Ice Age Mammals, visiting from the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa until January 18th. Step back in time… to four million years ago and chill out with mammoths, mastodons, three-toed horses, lions, and even camels! Touch a real mammoth tusk; meet Bucky the giant beaver; and discover what really happened during the Ice Age and how these mammals became frozen in time.

This is the last weekend to enjoy two art exhibitions: Miller Brittain: When the Stars Threw Down Their Spears - visiting from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery; and from the new Know Your Own Artists series - Alexandra Flood: Tableaux.
