Spots still available in CSI Museum DAY CAMP!

New friendships, experiences, and learning are waiting to happen this summer at the New Brunswick Museum’s new innovative summer day camp, CSI Museum! The name, coined from the popular television series, offers children entering grades 3 to 5 great opportunities to Collect Show and Investigate cool New Brunswick stuff!

There are two week long programs to choose from – Junior Fossil Hunter (July 21-25, August 18-21) or Junior Archaeologist (August 11-15). Children can attend for one week or more. The July 14-18 program is in full swing and being enjoyed by children this week.

The weekly day camps run from 9am to 4:30pm at a cost of $125 per week (10% NBM member discount). Early drop off and late pick up is available at an additional cost of $5 per day. The camp format consists of a variety of group activities led by Museum interpreters in different galleries of the Museum, as well as outdoor field trips each day for children to explore, discover, and enjoy.

In the Junior Fossil Hunter program kids will have the opportunity to explore many fossil stories including the New Brunswick discovery of the Hillsborough Mastodon, Devonian Shark, Giant Millipede and more! They will also explore the Delilah Code and uncover the mystery surrounding this whale. Participation in a skit about a famous paleontologist from the past will be enjoyed along with many more activities in our popular bird and whale galleries.

The Junior Archaeologist program will investigate evidence of people in New Brunswick from First Nation history and exploration, to other early communities of New Brunswick, such as the Loyalists and Acadians. Simple machines and other inventions will be explored. Other activities will include making flapjack pancakes as well as butter; dressing up in historic costumes of the people of New Brunswick; and tours of the many galleries, including the Hall of Great Whales.

Registration deadline for each program is the Wednesday before the camp start date. Call (506) 643-2349 or 1-888-268-9595 to book a spot for your child. Smart Happens at the New Brunswick Museum!
