“Under Sail” A Journey of the First Woman Sea Captain

First Time Event at the New Brunswick Museum!

On Wednesday, August 25 starting at 7pm don’t miss this first time ever dance event being held at the New Brunswick Museum.  Under Sail is a Journey of the First Woman Sea Captain presented by Connection Dance Works.

In collaboration with the New Brunswick Museum, the project titled “Under Sail”, choreographed by Marcia Dysart and danced by Joanna Bryson, Sarah Johnson, Emily MacNeil and Jennifer O’Reilly, will offer audiences a new dance experience.

The creation of this dance work was inspired by the life of Molly Kool, North America’s first woman sea captain from Alma, New Brunswick.   The journey of Kool’s life will take you from one gallery of the museum to the next, as dancers represent her life through solos, duets, trios and full company pieces.   A traveling narrator will lead people through the museum while making references to her life.  These connections will help make the performance a continuous piece of work.  Audience members will have the opportunity to talk with the dancers during a reception following the performance.

Tickets are $25 plus tax per person; includes refreshments. Available at the New Brunswick Museum Exhibition Centre, Market Square, Saint John.

Order of show and areas of interest in the New Brunswick Museum
