Celebrate Saint John’s 225th anniversary with a visit to the New Brunswick Museum, Market Square, Tuesday afternoon, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.   Discover Saint John’s rich heritage and contemporary multicultural community through gallery talks, family-friendly activities, and entertainment throughout the afternoon. All are welcome and admission is free!

There will be a showcase in the NBM foyer of several pieces related to Saint John’s First Mayor Gabriel George Ludlow (1736-1808), including a Windsor side chair, mourning ring, book, and desk cabinet.

Enjoy a gallery chat with one of the NBM curators:

•    Saint John’s architectural heritage – with Gary Hughes, Curator of History and Technology, in the Building New Brunswick exhibition.
•    Early Saint John artifacts and stories – with Peter Larocque, Curator of New Brunswick Cultural History and Art, in the New Brunswick Gallery of Decorative Arts.

Music and entertainment for all to enjoy – sponsored by Saint John 225:

1:30 pm - Acadian music provided by Club d’Âge d’or Arc-en-ciel

Visitors, have your name transformed into Chinese script writing by presenter Lu Fan, with a visit to the new Asian Heritage Exhibition, From the Community: A Journey in Asia.

For the young and young at heart, enjoy child’s play from the old days with a ball and cup game creation; or design your very own clay gargoyle (like many of those adorning the historic brick buildings of Saint John) in the Museum’s Discovery Gallery.

Starbucks Brunswick Square will be providing FREE coffee and hot chocolate to Museum visitors in the NBM foyer from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

Join us to celebrate two hundred and twenty five years as a city! May 18 is also International Museums Day - another reason to celebrate!  Admission is free all day! Tuesday, May 18, 9 am to 5 pm, New Brunswick Museum, Market Square.
