The New Brunswick Museum's Collections Centre will be getting an overhaul with the help of a $1.1-million investment from the provincial government.
Heating, ventiliation and leaks are among the issues facing the deteriorating building which is located on Douglas Avenue.
Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Trevor Holder it's important this multi-year plan, which was developed by the museum's board of directors with the help of the province, begin straight away. He says these collections, which are critical to telling the story of who we are as New Brunswickers, are at risk if immediate action isn't taken.
The first phase involves costing out design work and doing a fundraising feasability study.
