Family Activities

June at the NBM: Indigenous Culture of New Brunswick. Regular admission. Honour national Indigenous peoples day all month long at the NBM. Explore the past and present of New Brunswick’s vibrant Indigenous communities, taking in temporary exhibition “The Circle of life” featuring portraits of Indigenous leaders by Donald McGraw. Storytelling and hands-on activities including art instruction, discovery tours, crafts, cooking and more! (Bilingual)

This Week at the NBM                                            

21, and 28 June Thursdays 6:30-8pm: Handmade at the NBM - Scrapbooking Cards. Free in NBM Foyer. Take part in group instruction or work on individual projects in the company of friends. Fee of $2 per project or bring your own supplies. Don’t miss out on these evenings of friendship and fun! Ages 14 to adult. (Bilingual)

21 June Thursday 9am-9pm: National Indigenous Peoples Day. Free admission. Honour National Indigenous Peoples Day at the NBM. 2:30 pm:  Try your hand at baking and tasting different bread: Bannock
4 pm with commentary by the artist: Movie: Donald McGraw et le cercle des chefs: Tears of Powers
5pm: Meet the artist Donald McGraw in Gallery 5
6:30pm: Tasting of Bannock in the foyer
7pm: Movie: Donald McGraw et le cercle des chefs: Tears of Powers
All day: Indigenous Stories and mural activity in the Discovery Gallery.

26 June Tuesday 5-7pm: Join the New Brunswick Museum to celebrate the opening of the exhibition Fragments of Humanity. Archaeology in Québec. 1 July Sunday 12pm-5pm: Canada Day at the NBM! Free admission. Be a part of Canada's coast to coast celebrations! Get a glimpse of New Brunswick’s history, shipbuilding, and natural sciences. Whale sightings guaranteed (full size models of course)! New temporary exhibitions! Fun for the whole family, all day long, at the New Brunswick Museum! (Bilingual)

School and Youth Groups, Adult Groups, Senior Groups, Tea and Tour Special programs available by appointment. Group rates apply to groups of eight or more.

NBM Birthday Parties for all ages! Book your birthday party at the NBM to receive a fun, interactive tour of a museum gallery & room rental for your festivities. $13. Per person. Some restrictions apply for room use. Please book two weeks in advance. Call (506) 643-2349 for more information.
